GRDC Grain Storage Workshop – Warren/Collie
Central West Local Land Services invites you to attend this workshop to learn and hear from: Chris Warrick, GRDC Stored Grain Extension Project, covering:
- Matching storage type to the purpose and budget
- practical and economic considerations.
- Silo and storage setup options.
- Grain quality management with aeration.
- Pest (weevil) ID, prevention and control.
- How to optimise harvest logistics and capture seasonal price premiums
- Kate Glastonbury / Cameron Murray, Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, covering plant biosecurity and grain hygiene: – Awareness and preparedness of exotic and endemic plant pests.
- Geoff Minchin, Local Land Services, covering drought adoption:
– Feeding livestock and the implications of storing low quality grain.
– Long term vs medium/short term storage options
– Financial support for large investments- RIC loans, RAA support programs.
